Inspired by the mesmerizing polka dot work of artist Yayoi Kusama, I started Drawing polka dots on paper.
Kusama actually sees the world in polka dots, as her mind doesn't fuse all of the bits of information her eyes see into a clear image. Her work reminds us of how dynamic reality truly is, before it's perceived as the 3D reality that we've come to expect from our own minds.
In the flower face I find that it's hard to get a real grasp of what this creature's face looks like, and to me it feels like it's constantly evolving, changing it's expression to match the observer.
